What happens when 150 of the brightest pricing minds gather in Berlin for a two-day event packed with more actionable insights, thrills and adrenaline rushes than one human mind could feasibly imagine? Time to meet the pricing world’s ultimate event, Accelerate!

On May 15-16, 2019, pricing experts from over 20 countries across the globe came together at the NH Collection Hotel in the heart of Berlin for what proved to be one of the highlights of the events calendar. Attendees enjoyed a packed program filled with 15 speaker presentations and two workshops where experts shared their valuable and practical insights into all things pricing. From pricing initiatives to detailed behind-the-scenes glimpses into their own implementations and best practices, the captive audience was totally wowed and inspired by the presenters’ success stories.

On the first day of the conference, attendees also got to see an exclusive unveiling, by our very own CMO, Patrick J. Moorhead, of Pricefx’s new website and brand relaunch under the motto “Passion for Pricing”. And they also learnt Pricefx’s values – “Fast, Flexible Friendly”, which are the only f-words they can say in public. Sharing our vision of the future and keeping users very much in the loop is a joy for us. We feel that in this way, we are sharing our transparency and passion in everything we do. Additionally, there was a sneak peek into some of the exciting developments coming to the Pricefx platform, as well as the chance to meet in person Pricefx’s co-founders and other brains behind the tech, and to share their valued feedback with them.

But these weren’t the only things that set pricing hearts racing! Special guest Ben Collins, aka BBC TV Top Gear’s The Stig, made a memorable appearance at the opening event with a thrilling motivational talk. This was followed in the afternoon with a “fireside chat” between Czech top alpine skier, Sarka Strachova, and our CMO, where she shared interesting insights into her Olympic career and her successful business life.

Those early attendees that were lucky enough to take part in the “warm up” pre-event on May 14, also got the chance to experience what it is like to be The Stig’s passenger as Ben Collins personally drove each one of them around at the networking day, which took place, at breakneck speeds in a souped-up, 700-horse-power Mercedes at a nearby race track! They also got to try for themselves other extreme-driving challenges such as off-roading in a 4×4 Lada and speed braking. Prizes were awarded for the fastest drivers as the winners of the overall events took their places on the podium to have their need for speed publicly acknowledged!

And when in Berlin, what better to do than to experience the culture? So, the first day of Accelerate culminated in a visit to an exclusive Michelin-starred restaurant where guests not only could experience a tasty array of local culinary delights with tasty cocktails, they could also see how good their pricing strategies were at the roulette table.

The last day of the event consisted of break-out sessions and workshop and wrapped up with closing remarks and reflections on all of the incredible experiences and insights jam-packed into the Berlin edition of Accelerate. Not only was this year’s conference the best yet, it also showed the promising future that the world of pricing can look forward to. Over the next few weeks and months, we will be sharing with you some of the sessions and other highlights that those of you that were lucky enough to attend enjoyed. And for those of you that couldn’t make it, you can enjoy them too and see what you missed. Make sure you watch this space and don’t miss out on the next event. I, for one, cannot wait to see how we will top the 7th edition of Accelerate – and believe me, we will. See you at the next event!
