Pricefx Paloma 17: Smarter Agents, AI-Driven Optimization, and a Modern Data Experience
Release date: June 28th, 2026
We’re excited to share what’s coming in Pricefx Paloma 17, our next major platform release arriving on June 28th, 2026. Paloma 17 represents a significant step forward in how pricing, sales and finance teams discover opportunities, act on AI-driven recommendations, and manage their data—all within a single, unified platform.
Pricefx Agents and Copilot: From Insight to Action in Fewer Clicks
Pricefx Agents are designed to surface business opportunities and risks automatically, then guide users toward the right response. Paloma 17 makes that workflow significantly faster and more precise.
Actions Grouping and Action Tasks
A common challenge with automated recommendations is noise—too many individual actions to review. Paloma 17 introduces Actions grouping, which lets you aggregate recommended actions along a chosen dimension such as product group. This reduces clutter and makes it easier to assign groups of actions to the right team members.
Even more impactful are the new contextual Action Tasks. Once an Agent identifies an opportunity, users can now act on it immediately—for example, creating a quote or updating a Live Price Grid—without leaving the workflow. Flexible settings ensure the tasks and recommendations stay relevant to your business context.
Agents Empowered by Multiple Data Sources
Until now, Agents worked primarily against a single Sales Insights datamart. With Paloma 17, you can use natural language through Copilot to create Agents that draw from multiple datamarts simultaneously. Copilot scans available datamarts and automatically selects the best-matching data based on your request, while the system falls back to the standard Sales Insights mapping when no specific source is named.
You can also explicitly name datamarts in your prompt for full control, and new validation checks flag missing sources before they can produce misleading results. This opens the door to cross-dataset analyses—think combining sales data with competition data or cost data—that were previously difficult to set up.
AI Optimization: Sharper Negotiation Guidance and Competitive List Pricing
Pricefx’s AI optimization capabilities continue to mature. Paloma 17 delivers meaningful upgrades to two of the most widely adopted use cases: Negotiation Guidance and List Price Optimization.
Enhanced Negotiation Guidance
Negotiation Guidance helps pricing teams set data-driven floor, target, and ceiling prices for deals. Paloma 17 adds several enhancements:
- Price Index and Unit Net Price as two new optimization metrics, giving teams more flexibility in how they model deal pricing.
- A dedicated Review dashboard with specialized charts to quickly assess recommendation quality and identify segments that need attention.
- Currency support with automatic conversion for datamart sources, removing a common manual step.
- Recency weighting that prioritizes recent transactions over older reference data, ensuring recommendations reflect current market conditions.
- Improved weight consistency and weighted percentiles for more accurate optimization targets.
Enhanced List Price Optimization
For pricing teams, Paloma 17 introduces full-fledged competition positioning. You can now integrate competitor pricing data directly into your optimization models at list or invoice price levels. Key additions include:
- Product-based positioning for granular rule-setting by product line and individual competitor.
- Overall positioning to define a unified strategic price relationship against key competitors across an entire portfolio.
- Competition comparison views that provide clear visibility into your market standing.
- Support for alternative elasticity data, allowing teams to incorporate proprietary insights for more precise price sensitivity modeling.
Import Manager: A Modern, In-App Data Management Experience
Data management in Pricefx is getting a major overhaul. The Import Manager consolidates data import, export, validation, and editing into a single in-app experience—replacing the need for external tools like the legacy Pricefx Excel client.
With Import Manager, users can:
- Import data across the application—from Price Lists data and Master Data to Company Parameters and Bill of Materials—using pre-structured templates and drag-and-drop uploads.
- Validate data before it’s finalized, with integrated error handling that highlights mismatched rows and supports bulk corrections.
- Leverage approval workflows to ensure all data changes are reviewed and authorized before being applied.
- Perform in-app mass editing for up to 10,000 rows, with centralized tracking and audit trails.
- Use direct import for tables where no verification is needed, and a new “Create new” option for building imports entirely within the app.
Import Manager supports a comprehensive range of data types including products, customers, product and customer extensions, product references, company parameters, sellers, competition data, bill of materials, price lists, manual price lists, and live price grids.
Deprecation Notice: Excel Client and Data Change Request
With Import Manager reaching full capability, the legacy Pricefx Excel client and Data Change Request feature will be deprecated in Paloma 17. This is a platform upgrade rather than a loss of functionality—Import Manager covers all existing use cases with better scalability, built-in validation, and native workflow approvals. Customers should begin adopting Import Manager before upgrading to release 17.0, as these legacy tools will be fully removed.
More Enhancements Worth Knowing About
Data Validation in PlatformManager
PlatformManager now includes an enhanced Data Validation tool that lets you independently validate data files before uploading them to Pricefx. Users can select and fine-tune validation checks, inspect file contents directly in the tool, leverage intelligent column mapping, and monitor data quality through dashboards with drill-down error reports. Past validation results can be revisited, re-run, or downloaded at any time.
Dashboard Snapshots
Heavy dashboards can take time to load, especially when based on large datasets. Paloma 17 introduces Dashboard Snapshots, which let you schedule dashboards with specific filters to be pre-calculated automatically. The result: instant access to critical metrics without processing lag—ideal for executive reporting and recurring KPI reviews.
All-New Pricefx Knowledge Base
Pricefx is launching a completely redesigned Knowledge Base at knowledge.pricefx.com. Built to be fully AI-ready, it features an embedded AI chatbot for fast answers and a new MCP server that lets engineers plug documentation directly into their IDE. Existing Confluence links will continue to work, though Knowledge Base URLs will move to a cleaner format without page IDs.
Upgrade Planning: N-1 Release Policy
As a reminder, Pricefx provides official support for the latest two releases. Once Paloma 17 ships, the supported releases will be Paloma 17.x and Black Cat 16.x. Customers still on Southside 15 should begin planning their upgrade to Black Cat 16 now to remain within the support window.
This is particularly relevant for customers hosted in private cloud environments. Shared environment customers are upgraded automatically and will comply with the policy.
